Again, Thank you George. No muster rolls for the 22nd would explain why I can't find any. If he's my guy, looks like he joined the 22nd just before or just after Chickamauga. Just after would make sense, as the 22nd took heavy casualties there, almost half the regiment killed or wounded. I'm 95% sure this is the right man, misspelled names are common in the Compiled Service Records, my Maloney ancestors were listed under 3 different spellings. John had 5 brothers that served the Confederacy, 4 in the 6th GA Cav and one in Dawson's 19th Ark. Inf. One died at Camp Chase, Ohio, one at Franklin, one at Sevierville and one at Dalton. A heavy toll on one family. Thanks again for your help.
