Alan.....the man who conducted a program for SCV 1610 and mentioned the 36th records stated that the records were borrowed in 1910 or 1911....I believe the Archives were established at this time....as previously noted, the man was an entertaining writer yet sometimes mixed fact with fiction in describing historical events as they related to Monroe County hence my admonition to accept the information with a grain of salt. Since my post, I have received several e-mails, all with a link to an article penned by Hutton and published in Confederate Veteran magazine around 1910.
