Perhaps...just perhaps even the least is better than none. What I mean, is two of my g.g.grandfathers fought for the Confederacy (the MS 29th and the Al 48th) neither of their bodies can be found. They are possibly in one of the many MASS graves that were used at the battlegrounds, OR just in a ditch somewhere. Another was buried in MS but the part of the cemetery ground (his site was on) was sold to a farmer and the earth was simpy turned over and planted for crops. That is one of the reasons I continue to search for the final resting place of JOHN M. ELDER, yet another "lost" soldier-g.g.grandfather. As a registered Daughter of the Confederacy each of the above are entitled to a brass marker at their site...however, I can locate none of them. All I have in three out of the four ancestors are their records.
