I highly caution you on placing a "memorial stone." I have seen too many times when good intensioned descendants place stones without alot of accurate information and many times there is just not proof of the body's location. They have their own personal reasons for the placing the stones but for historical accuracy's sake and those that follow us 50- 100 + years down the road it leads to a misperception that a body may or may not belong there.

I will give you a recent example that me and my 13 y.o. son ran into two weeks ago. We were going through the Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta looking at soldiers of the regiments that I research and lo and behold we found two markers for the same soldier on two different and separate rows. These markers are for soldiers and not distinguished as "memorial stones". Neither location is were records show were that soldier is potentially buried and what appears to have happened is that two different sets of descendants have come in years later and placed their markers where gaps in the row was created when a tree was removed.

If you choose to place a marker, please have the words, "IN MEMORY OF" put on the marker. This will give following generations a clue that an actual body does not rest there.
