Thanks so much for the information. I had wondered but did not have a clue. I do appreciate corrections to be honest.
Do you know how long Jackson, Tennessee stayed behind enemy lines?
I know through oral history that Harper was there at the medical tent/area when the big general's body was brought in. The two men had about the same wound, except the general had severed an artery. Oral history says all of the men were greatly upset and crying and carrying on.
So now I wonder if Harper was one of those thousands the CSA loaded up and took South.
