Thank you very much for the information. It would appear that Harper went south with the rest of the wounded.
I also appreciate learning the other details.
What about Memphis? Was it also held by the Union forces?
My Bayne family connections who were in Shelby County took off back to Kentucky where my gg grandfather had been raised. If they headed that way, were they more likely to be Union or Confederate? There is a bit of shady past there in my way of thinking and I always thought those folks were hiding something.
