While one would think a lost button here or there by a bunch of cadets is very likely, remember the school was only in operation a short time and once closed all uniforming probably was returned to the arsenal as were the weapons. If that were the case then when the initial, non uniformed volunteers started pouring into Little Rock stuff was probably handed out and any of those may have been given to any number of soldiers who may or may not have even been in the same units, therefore it probably makes the chances of finding one even rarer. I would say that the two that have been dug can attest to that. Still I would love to be like the old proverbial blind sow who finds the acorn (button) every once in a while!
