I just want to say thank you to all of you that have put your time and money to uncover the history of these sites and the men that used them. It takes alot of time and money to do alot of this research. I couldn't even imagine buying a site and restoring it. Thank you all!
I never knew about White Sulpher Springs until I started reading it here. Now I will visit this area for sure. My wife and I went to Helena a couple of weeks ago. If you haven't been there it's a beautiful piece of history. The people that have researched and restored the area have done and are doing a great job. I hope to visit several more sites as time allows. As soon as I get time Lonoke area is on my list.

I have been doing alot of history research and I can relate to anyone that feels a bit overwhelmed with the information that they have obtained. I too started out wanting to write a book, and I still do. It's just that I don't have a clue where to start. It started with just one battle, but then snowballed fast. I can tell you that my research will not die with me and I hope the person(s) I leave it to will do something with it if I never write a book.
I think about the saddest part of my research is finding a skirmish site or a camp only to find out that it has been leveled. Almost half of the sites I have found turn out this way. Every time I see the tractors pulling dirt pans I wonder which site will be destroyed.
