You may not be wrong in your assumption, I have not done extensive Geneological research on the Wright family to determine whether they are related or not. Many others have made the same connection that Camp Wright was on the Wright Plantation at Pastoria, Ar. Including several writers of Walkers "Greyhound" Texas Division histories make this assumption, but it is not correct.
The J.J. Wright's Family of Pine Bluff contributed at least 2 son (H.F. and Jefferson Wright) to the infamous Jefferson Guard Militia Company that was part of the march on the Little Rock Arsenal in February 1861, and fired on and commandeered supply steamboats going to Fort Smith from behind the Jefferson Country Court House. They were later in Company "B" of Cleburne's 1st Arkansas State Troops, which later became Company "B" of Cleburne's/Josey's 15th Arkansas Volunteer Infantry.
The position of J.J. Wright's Plantation is also an ideal defensive position well suited to support and defend the southern approaches to the Confederate defences at Fort Pleasent. This was very important in January to March of 1863. And as I have said relic hunters have years ago have found artifacts which indicate a military presence there. The Family Historian of this Wright Family will tell many stories of the officers eating meals at their plantation house. And many other such pieces of information from diaries which convience me that this is the true location of the famed Camp Wright of Texas Division lore.
Finally, Pastoria is not on the South Bank of the Arkansas River 4 miles from Pine Bluff as given in a journal of the 11th Texas Infantry of Walkers Division.
