As you know, Sergt. Pearce was one of the few 8th Arkansas men who, despite being wounded in action at Shiloh, served from the very beginning of the war to the very end. One of the things I plan to post is a list of the men who were paroled at Jamestown, North Carolina, on May 1, 1865. Sadly, it's a short list.
