George, thank you for your extraordinarily detailed and informative narrative reference my g, grandfather, Charles Louis Roach and the 8th Arkansas Infantry. I wonder if you might suggest a reference that may be available for those wounded and kia at the Battle of Shiloh? I consider myself honored that I have, in addition to Charles Roach, several other family members that fought on the side of the confederacy. Charles had a brother, Peyton Roach that enlisted in Arkansas as well. My g,g, grandfather, Felix Vasseau (Vasseur) also enlisted vicinity of Arkansas Post and served with Harts Arkansas, as did my g,g grand father Eli Shireman who served with a cavalry unit in and from Virginia. Discovering the details of the lives of these men has been truly educational and rewarding. Any direction/assistance is much apprciated.
