Five pounds? That's a bit on the generous side. The Starr DA Navy (36 caliber) revolver weighed in at 3 pounds 3 ounces, the more common Starr DA Army (44 caliber) revolver weighed in at 2 pounds 14 ounces. Neither really matches the description of a French Dragoon revolver.
