I will have to dig into my files for those that lack color headers but in an email to me from Howie in 2006 his dimensions for the CD flags of infantry size were listed as:

overall size - 48 inches (give or take)
star size - 4 1/2 inches
fimbration - 1 inch
blue cross - 8 inches wide

The 46th Mississippi flag matches all of those to a "T" except for the overall size - off by an inch or so all around - and the fimbration (3/4 inch on the MS flag).

While the text in his AOT flags book does not come right out and say that this flag was made through the Charleston Depot he does clearly state that it had to have been supplied by the QM of Walker's command, who had come to the west from the Dept. of SC, GA & FL, whose flags were indeed made at the Charleston Depot.

It will be next week before I can get into my flag files thanks to other things I have to do before I head out of town Friday.
