I wrote the article in question, so I'll try to clear up some of your questions. The image is not of the flag that was recently purchased by the state of South Carolina and the SC Sons of Confederate Veterans. I learned of the purchase during an SCV meeting last week in Newberry, SC, and saw an actual image of the 19th SC flag at the meeting, but it wasn't accessible such that I could use it for my story.

Randy Burbage of the South Carolina SCV said there were previously five known Macon Arsenal flags, and that this is the sixth. I have also come across information on the Internet stating the same.
