Skip:

Just getting a chance to check my e-mail. I responded to your earlier e-mails. Thanks for the kind words about the book. It has been very well-received, and "America's Civil War" is going to do an excerpt from the book "Seven Pines," and hopefully that will also spur sales.

I had an ancestor (Early Allen, Co. C, 9th FL) who was wounded in the chest at Cold Harbor. He lived almost ten years (in agony) with a festering wound that refused to heal. Also had an ancestor in the 7th FL. A young fellow at FSU, named Jonathan Sheppard, has completed his PhD. dissertation on the Florida boys in the Army of Tennessee. He's shopping for a publisher for it. I can certainly appreciate the common Florida soldier, as none of my ancestors got above the rank of Sgt. I was once a member of the MOSB, but only because I had a grandsire who was a chaplain in the 30th GA.

I'd be very interested in seeing your concept sketches for the Cold Harbor painting. Zack
