my ancestors fought with the 11th Georgia Infantry attached to the Army of Northern Virginia, I also had ancestors with the 52nd Georgia Infantry at Vicksburg, and one in the 6th Georgia Cavalry, formerly Smith's Legion.
I also had ancestors with the Union Army..one in the 1st TN National Guard Company A and four brothers with the 3rd TN Mounted Infantry. It is not a well known fact but TN, mainly the Eastern part contributed more volunteers to the Union Army than there were men from Rhode Island, Minnesota or Delaware.
