Glen, The last thing most of us wish to do is to 'denigrate' anything Confederate. The best thing any of us can do is to continue to speak of the War of Northern Aggressions and the facts that surround, fill and follow it. If we (as I admit am prone to want to do) blind ourselves to see the events and people as we wish, we cannot fully place them in an honest light. War is hell, and there are no pretty pictures of battle. The family the Confederate soldiers left behind were not living in a pretty world either. These Southern men, women and children and some of the most interesting, dedicated and self sacrificing people I have ever studied. The story book would be of a perfect place. It wasn't, but there is no other place on Earth I'm prouder to be a native of than the Land of the Confederacy. In seeing the true picture, we can appreciate those who came before much better, and honor their memory. Keep those Battle Flags flying and keep educating those who don't understand, know or care about their own heritage.
