Re: Excerpts from Jackson County Paper 1883-1885

Herb, interesting post. The article states the company began with 84 men and recruited 49 more, making 133. However, a list of Company C, 18th Georgia published in "The Early History of Jackson County, Georgia" in 1914 contains 140 names. Incidentally, Private Andrew G. Oliver was killed at Gettysburg on 2 July 1863, and James A. Rogers died at the battle of Knoxville on 29 November 1863.
