Re: Company A, 18th Georgia

Stan, I have some bits. Captain James L. Lemon, born in Decatur, Georgia in 1835, commanded Company A at one point, possibly at Gettysburg. J. B. O'Neill also served as Captain of the company. Major John C. Griffis was originally with the company and may have served on BGEN Wofford's staff as of mid-1863. Second Lieutenant John E. Shelton was transferred to Company E of the Third Battalion Georgia Sharpshooters circa June 1863. I have identified eight men who were casualties at Gettysburg, including Sergeant John M. McLain (variant McClain) who was wounded in the leg and captured - he was reportedly sent to Hog Island prison near New York City.
