Now I'm confused! he location is right, but the cemetery is close to a little white Baptist church on Wade Green. It swings around behind the church. Maybe there was(is?) a Methodist church adjacent. That is not unusual in these parts. I'll check into it. Shiloh Road runs into Wade Green after crossing I-75. I've seen another picture, and Francis' wife Nancy is buried next to him. She died in 1924. She continued writing for his pension after he passed away, her claim getting shorter each year. Finally, in her last year, she said, "He went to the war and it killed him!" Her request was approved, according to my sources.

It was good to see kind remarks from a Texan about the 18th when they were in the Texas Brigade, through Antietam. Wofford commanded the brigade during the battle, as Hood had been promoted. They fought in the Cornfield. At Gaines' Mill, Hood commented favorably on the 18th, they having captured several guns in the Yankee retreat. Though disputed by some, saying it was applied to the 3rd Arkansas after reorginization, the Texans referred to the 18th as the 3rd. Texas, as a sobriquet of honor. Stan
