Re: 60th NC Inf Reg/ Find Elijah L. Lawson

Thanks Tim! The service records that I have did state that G.W. Lawson died at Bridgeport, Tn. after having only being in the war for a few short months. He had received no pay, only a overcoat for his short service. There is really a Bridgeport, Tn. but being familiar with this area, I knew of no battles there and this being only aboutd 5 miles from his home. Taking into consideration that the 60th had trained to guard railroads and railroad bridges and the listing in NC Troops showed that he died at Bridgeport, Ala., I found this to be the most logical sceniro. Now that I am pointed in a more accurate direction maybe I can find Ol Great Uncle George and complete his circle. Thanks again, Jim Harmon
