Thanks, Jim, for a wonderfully helpful response. I am still a bit mystified as to why Buster apparently refered to his battalion at Old Fort Wayne as infantry. He wrote: "my little handful of infantry stood to the last . . . ." At least I assume he was referring to his battalion. Who else could he have meant?

Any thoughts?
