An error that comes to mind is that he transcribed "Star Deer-in-the-water" as "Thomas Starr [illegible]". Deer-in-the-water is a Cherokee surname. Star was in the 3rd IHG and was at home when he was killed. There is a Deer-in-the-water buried in Ft Scott Natl Cemetery who I assume was Star's father. Mr Myers also left out sections that he was not interested in from a genealogy stand point.
I would like to have a high res scan of the original as the microfilm is low quality and the photocopies of it even worse. There are many pages where the first and/or last sentence(s) is illegible on my copy. Lar Gjertveit and I have reviewed my unfinished transcription and would like to publish an annoted version some day. The biggest hold up is reviewing the original or a high resolution color scan of it.
I'm not comfortable being so critical of Mr Myers hard work but I personally would not use and could not recommend something so filled with errors.
