thanks for the map I look at it and it is the location I was talking about. The Church is no longer there, but the cem. certainly is. I went over there yesterday just to see if I had remember it correctly. If you look at the map and turn south just past the cem. that takes you to the clump of houses in a circle or town square. I talked with one resident but she told me she didn't know anything about where the ford was supposed to be. If you look at the closest points from the town to the river the ford could very well be in a area that has been destroyed by all the road and bridges. But I do think that has to be the sandtown mentioned in the reports. First it fits very well if you use as your starting point the blue creek which is the place the confederates camped after crossing the Ark. River. And according to the lady from my first visit the town went back that far as a slave town or black town.
