Re: Choctaw & Chickasaw Battalion

Hey Kent,
I didn't know that was your stompin' grounds! My boss was born and raised at Stonewall. When I was down there last spring, we started our expedition from the Fittstown P.O.. I recall driving by a place where I was told there was a Colbert somethin' -- might have been the spring house. Seems it was east of 377/99 and west or northwest of Frisco, is that right? Was that Winchester Colbert's? You probably know right where the Frisco Cemetery is located and where you ford Clear Boggy just southwest of it. That was where Cochran's was and the Pontotoc Courthouse. In the ORs, where it says Jumper retreated to the courthouse and then on to Ft Arbuckle, I think it must mean the Pontotoc Courthouse. There is a memior, I think by a Perryman in the IHG that says they went south as far as Mill Creek which I presume to be there at Fittstown. The Dragoon Trail went south from Frisco (Cochran's) past Fittstown to Ft Washita.
