Alan...thanks very much for the clarification. You saved me from chasing a rabbit that would have probably consumed hours. BTW I have not looked at the tapes I got from the National Archieves since our local library is being gutted because of mold in the air conditing system;hence their film reader is not available for use at this time.

Are the micro film in the original handwriting of the documents or is the film photos of consolidated notes taken of the original Civil War Manuscripts? I am anxious to get started on transcribing the micro film, I suppose it will take many months to get thru all of them.

Once again thanks for all of the assistance you give all of us who post on the various Civil War Message Boards...I'm sure each of us appreacite you very much.
