No,I appreciate the post but, he was held at the Masonic Lodge in Atlanta. He was one of eighty or so officers captured at Stones River as well as some ten or more captured at Hartsville,TN. Dec 7,1862.There was a little known ordeal involving a truce flag at Hartsville that caused Jeff Davis,at the despair of the Confederate Congress to remove the officers from the Dix-Hill Cartel agreement and not forward to Libby for exchange.Long story short they were traded for 300 VA. civilians summoned to the depot and taken by trains without guard Feb.26,1863 to Libby. My GGGrandfather when summoned traded uniforms for a Butternut and got off the train at Conyers and walked to union lines at Reinzi,MS.arriving March 25,1863.I have a picture of Atlanta after Federal occupation of the soldiers being loaded into boxcars at the Depot at Atlanta and the Masonic lodge is visible. He mentions several officers by name two from Hartsville the most prominent in his car was Gen.A.Willich who gave him a field map of the area.Along with his person description there is a several page history called Lt.Elliott's Narative that I transcribed and could send if you are interested. My e-mail is in previous post. Thanks for showing interest!
