George I have a copy of Mabel Alice Thompson's book "A Narrative History of Bayou Chicot". I see no Stanley listed in the book's index. Can you provide some other names that may be connected to the man you seek.

On page 260 of the book there is an exceprt from the Official Records of the War of the Rebellion; Volume 15 page 0753 that mentions Captain S.M. Todd is to proceed to Prescott Springs near Bayou Chicot with his detachment and arrest a Mr. ?Harris for giving aid to the enemy. This would have been the Prairie Rangers.

Does the name Harris ring a bell. Captain Todd later deserted to the Union. There may be a good story here!
