Thank you very much for this info about the Acadians but my PHd only focuses on French-born soldiers. A lot of Frenchmen fought for Louisiana at that time, and not only for the militia companies, such as Felix Dumonteil (14th CSA cav., who died at Montpellier on December 16th, 1871 and is now buried near Paris, at Dammarie-les-Lys), Paul Francis de Gournay, Fulgence Debordenave (10th La Inf.), Aristide Gerard (13th La Inf.), Louis Lay, Léon Jastremski, Gaston de Coppens...
