Bruce Allardice's "More Generals in Gray" contains a concise profile of Gen Trudeau. My local library even had a copy. Couple of other works you might consult are Chas LaFour's "The Night the South Lost the War," Victor Tixier's "Travels on the Osage Prairie," J. J. Audubon's "Birds of North America" for a rendering of "Trudeau's Tern" (Plate 309).
Bruce monitors this board, so he might be able to get you more info on JT's wartime activities. Do you have a specific time period in JT's life that you're especially interested in?
