1st. Mo.Cav. 1st. Mo.Brig. CSA

My ancestor lost an arm in one of the many battles fought by the best unit in the WBTS either side. He was Cpl.John Greenwell on the paroled prisoner list at Vicksburg MS I was told that was the rank he gave in order to be released that his rank was at least a Capt. because he was the adjutant of Company B and commanded it in some later battles. I have Farleys book on the 1st Mo. but it lacks detailed information. He fought in every battle of the Mo. Brigade and was a friend of Gen Cockrell he lived through the WBTS and is buried on the family farm in New Florence, M0. Does any reader have any information on which battle it was. The list of battles fought by the 1st Mo. was as long as my arm.
