Don't concern yourself with the population of Lawrence. The were all just Yankees anyhow. Shucks man, many of Quantrill's ~men~ were just boys themselves. It really seems to me that the Jayhawkers weren't really soldiers at all but greatly preferred shooting unarmed civilians, brutalizing women, raping, plundering and burning... You know, real big brave men things! But, I won't be too hard on them after all, they created Quantrill's Guerrillas.
