When I compiled the rosters of the Jackson county regiment Captain Francis M. Davis struck as one of the oddities. He is listed as having been present Jan/Feb 1863, meaning he was in the 1st Marmaduke Raid, promoted to 2nd Lt. March 1863, then nothing until he is shown on the Surrender rolls at Shreveport on June 14,1865. The Officer Roster shows that he was 24 years old (63) and born in Missouri. Obviously we have a gap beginning in March 63. You may have filled in some of those gaps.
