Thanks Bruce,

This morning I tried to find a military record for Hookwright.
The name does not exist anywhere. Possibly a made up name for some unknown reason. Wasted a lot of time chasing that rabbit.
Sergeant Moody did exist and served through the war. It appears that he accepted a commission in the regular army at the end of his MSM service.
I have heard that a rock pile from the fort still exists. May try to seek it out.
All this good information has been great. Thanks for sharing.
