Greg,
I had two ancestors imprisoned there: Phillip Adam Butts, captured at Blakeley on 4/9/1865. He was with 63rd AL Inf.
My other grandfather was Malachi Stabler. He was captured at Spanish Fort. He was with 38th AL Inf. I would appreciate any info you find. I always wanted to visit Ship Island, guess there's nothing left to see now that Katrina came through.
