This is a great story. Unfortunately NPS records are not in the best shape and corrections could be made. However, I've never come across an instance in which corrections were made. Guess it's not in anyone's Federal job description.

I've also never seen a ship's manifest for prisoners-of-war. There may be something like that in the Ship Island prison records, but these won't be as detailed as might be imagined. I'd suggest that anyone who's interested and has the time to read several reels of microfilm ought to borrow, rent or purchase them. I'm sure there's a LDS family research center nearby that will help.
