Do you have a prisoner listed at Ship Island, Mississippi named George W Davis who was captued August 5, 1864. One source has him on the iron clad CSS Tenessee that was captured at the Battle of Mobile Bay on August 5, 1864 and taken to Ship Island. The second source in a report of the action, listed George as among the prisoners taken from the gunboat CSS Selma August 5, 1864 and sent away the same day (destination not stated.
