In Response To: A.M. West ()

In 1861 A. M. West was appointed Brigadier General of state militia to fill a vacancy created by officers entering Confederate service. At the time West was a wealthy planter, age 42, he and his family living in Dark Corner, Holmes County MS. At the end of the war it appears he was paroled as a general of state militia.
