Re: How to confirm soldier's service?

It isn't unusual for a soldier to have service in two or more units. Early enlistments were nearly always for twelve months, and twelve-month volunteers frequently joined other units when reenlisting. Soldiers discharged for health reasons sometime reenlisted, joining units other than their original commands. Of course paroles of many soldiers can be found in consolidated regiments.
