Further research indicated that the 21st Mass. was mustered out in October 1864. Those who remained were transferred to the 36th Mass. made up of men from the Worcester area, the home area for the 21st Mass. If Cook survived until then, you should check there also. In addition Regimental, Brigade, and Division Bands may be listed apart from the regimental records.
