With reference to Sarah Lee, the census for 1860 shows her birthplace as Alabama about 1834. If her father's name was William Lee, then she may have been living in Rusk County TX in 1850. The census for that county shows William Lee with daughter Sara B (R?) Lee, age 16. Rusk and Panola Counties share a common boundary line, and the community of Tatum where Zorababel Patty and his family lived straddles that line.

William Lee (born about 1801 in Kentucky) can be found in Van Zandt County TX by 1860.

Since we know the Pattys were involved in commerce and law, it could be that the Cook connection mentioned earlier was the result of a business relationship in Reconstruction-era Texas or Mississippi.
