I realy don't know a lot but here ya go. My great-grandfather, on my mother's side, was named Zorable Patty and he owned a plantation in Winston, Miss. I know he served, his father Charles Patty served and Zorable's son Robert Thomas Patty served. All three for the Confederacy. Towards the end of the war they sold the plantation in Winston, burned their Confederate money and escaped to Tatum, Panola County, Texas. Their move has always been described as an escape. Zorable's wife was named Sarah E. Lee and she returned to Miss. for a short period and then went back to Texas. I know Charle's later applied for a Confederate Pension. One of the family mysteries is what became of the family fortune as Charles and Zorable were quite well off and the money just seemed to disapear. I've heard stories that Robert was part of Jeff Davis's escort when Davis was on the run but have been unable to confirm it. Anyhow, that's about all I know. If you ever watched the Beverly Hillbillies, Granny on that show was my grandmother to a T! She also was friends with Bonnie & Clyde.
