Re: Stolen Confederate Gravestones

I can find nothing in the genology records for Alvin Roberts born 1825 in Greene county MS at all. The only Alvin i see was born 1912. A couple Roberts family Reaserchers say there is a Alfred Roberts born 1824 never married, one record had him listed as blind. I can find no pension for him. THe militiary records had him as Alvin, the Confederate Graves Registry as well. What gets me is the local VA rep says the va doesnt keep records on who and when these stones are ordered, which i think is hogwash. Don't pay your taxes and see if Uncle Sam does not have records. The other thing is, the ROberts family in Avera have no records of there Alfred Being a confederate Soldier. This mystery continues to baffle me.
