George,

This must be my lucky day !!! This is another line of my LAND family that left North Carolina and settled in Alabama. I didn't have much info on them. The James Calvin with the North Carolina militia actually lived and died in Wilkes County. My 5th gr,grandfather, Thomas Land married Anna Sumter, sister of the Revolutionary War General, Thomas Sumter. ( Ft. Sumter was named for him ) There are SEVERAL Sumter Lands in the family tree. This Sumter Land's father,John Land, was brother to the General. I didn't have much info on them. Thanks so much !!!! I believe this James Calvin served in a Fla.Cav.regiment. Another James C. Land, cousin to my line, served under Forrest in Tennessee. His photo is in " Confederate Veteran "
You've been a great help !!!
Thanks & God Bless,
Glenn
