Hmmm, I am not sure. Don't believe I've heard anything on that other then when Davis was elected, he was told it was by the "Provisional Congress". Maybe they were too concerned with winning independence and would have eventually moved on into a party system. Wonder how that would have gone? Food for thought anyway.
When did the Continental Congress split up into parties? The Hamilton/Jefferson split in thought came up after the 1st Continental Congress didn't it?
