Of the ones I've been to I liked...
1. Shilo
2. Vicksburg
3. Gettysburg
Why? For the most part they still have the "feel" of what it may have looked and felt like and they have geographical elements that can still be seen that played an important roll in each case.
Chickamuaga has a highway running through it and is a very spread out battlefield, which in my case, is hard to get a feel for.
Fredricksburg is surrounded by too many modern structures but has its good points.
There are many others sites I've been too that are only markers surrounded by urban sprall and it is very difficult to imagine any battles occuring at them.
Chickasaw Bayou and Champions Hill in Mississippi are pretty much prestine sites and would or should be great national battlefield parks.
