"Carnton Plantation", is my pick. This is located next to the Franklin Battlefield. The house was confiscated by Gen Nathan Bedford Forrest, to be used as a hospital. The bodies of Generals: Patrick Cleburne, Hiram Granbury, Otho Strahl and John Adams,CSA were taken to Carnton Mansion and placed on the back porch after the battle of Franklin. Many of Cleburne's command lie buried today in the private cemetery behind the house. They lie in neat rows, their name, rank, and regiment recorded. People say that Cleburn's spirit still dwells on the grounds of Carnton. One can see the blood stains inside the house where so many died. You won't forget the feeling you encounter while visiting this place. It is recorded as Tennessee's Most Haunted Civil War House.
