Jamie, your friends may indeed agree with you. However if you check out some sites on the Internet, you will see that many, if not a large majority of the black community leaders do not agree with you. As for the Federal Government, I believe that pullout was an agreement to give the election to Hayes over Tilden. In exchange for letting white southerner leaders go back to running their section of the country again. Met the new boss, same as the old boss.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking the side of black radical leaders. If you knew me, you would know that's not my style. I'm just saying this.. what most neo-Confederates saw as oppresion, most blacks saw as liberation, and vice a versa.

All which makes me glad that I was born in Ohio. It seems that blacks and southerners still carry alot of emotional baggage around, that I'm glad I don't have. However on the other side, Reconstruction or no Reconstruction, if you look around the world, you will still see racial animosity. Doesn't really need an excuse does it? I know some of my posting may have been off topic, Jamie, but mostly I was just joking around (well, except when George and I got into it) but we've even cleared that up, we in fact belong to a common organization called grassfire.
