Hey Pam,
I probably would not have liked Andrew Jackson if I had met him but Andrew Jackson is still a hero to me even for what he did to the Indians. If not him someone else would have done it, he had plenty of helpers. I know for sure that without him at New Orleans there would have never been a Civil War, there would not have been a United States, not as it was in 1860. He allowed for the expansion of the United States and blocked an attempt by Spain and Great Britain from taking back the Louisiana Purchase. Heck I know for sure if he had died in any of those duels he had my ancestors would never had met, and thus I would never had been born. History is made up of a lot of "ifs".
