L B Puller was arguably the greatest combat leader of the last century, and this from an army guy. He came from the ranks and never forget that, always let the EM eat first. His men adored him from what I've read. My buddy's dad served under him at Peliliu, if I remembered that correctly.

I love Audie Murphy, but am thinking that Puller was a veeeery, as in veeeeery close second in WW2. What a pro!

Semper Fi to all you jarheads out there. I think the CIB should be a national medal, across MOS's, not just 13B. God knows, more than just inf deserves it, and nothing says combat infantryman like that honorable badge.
